The Light Impact is a family owned & operated business that has been trading here in Adelaide for over 35 years. Originally known as Chandel Lighting, The Light Impact became one in 1989 as an importer & wholesaler of quality lighting fixtures.

Importing from all over the world we have built fantastic relationships with our manufacturers out of New Zealand, Italy & China.

We are National Distributors for Prolux Lighting and similarly with TLI Lighting, which gives us enormous advantage on price and monitoring quality. We then work as agents for other manufacturers who excel in there ranges such as ‘Brightgreen, Seaside Lighting & Hunza Lighting.

Meet the team below.

Tom became a director at TLI in 2016 after joining the team in 2009. As the primary point of contact with our suppliers, he has curated an extensive range of products suitable for nearly any application. Tom is dedicated to fostering long-term industry relationships, understanding that exceptional service and quality products are key to success. While he primarily manages our commercial clients and larger projects, Tom still enjoys working closely with our residential clients and providing support to James whenever needed.

James became part of TLI in 2017 after completing his degree in Architecture. With a background in Interior Architecture, he collaborates closely with our Architects and Interior Designers. A true ‘jack of all trades,’ James also spent two years as an electrical apprentice, giving him a deep understanding of how each project comes together. As a perfectionist, he pays attention to every detail and is dedicated to ensuring every job is completed to the highest standard. James oversees all of our residential projects, both internal and external, and is a valued and well-loved member of the team.

Meg joined TLI in 2021, bringing a fresh perspective and a burst of energy to both the office and on-site. With a background in communications and people engagement, she manages TLI’s marketing, accounts, and assists James in overseeing Lighting Designs. Known for her infectious personality, proactive attitude, and sharp attention to detail, Meg has quickly integrated into the TLI team and has built strong relationships with our clients.
Brad joined the TLI team in 2024. With his expertise in landscaping, Brad will be overseeing our landscapers, landscape designers, and anyone eager to transform their garden into something extraordinary. Our commitment to providing exceptional service and expertise across all our offerings remains strong, and we’re confident that Brad’s experience and knowledge will make a valuable contribution to our team.
Shaun joined TLI in 2022 and has since led our commercial division. With nearly 30 years of industry experience – particularly in lighting – he brings a deep well of knowledge and expertise to the team. Shaun oversees our design and construct (D&C) commercial projects and manages national partnerships, offering guidance on lighting design, standards, and product selection to ensure the best fit for each application. He has already established strong, long-term relationships and enjoys working closely with both businesses and individuals.

Cassandra joined TLI in 2025 and has made an immediate impact on our design team. Holding a bachelor’s degree with first class honours in Interior Architecture and bringing five years of specialised experience in lighting design, she has introduced fresh ideas and innovative products to our offering. With a strong background in hospitality, hotels, and residential lighting specification and a passion for decorative selections, Cassandra is well-equipped to support any project you need us to consult on.

Design

Design & Construct has become a big part of The Light Impacts services. Interior Designers, Architects and Contractors can take advantage our lighting designer and more importantly have the peace of mind knowing there commercial or industrial applications are up to Australian standards in their respective fields. An area we have slowly been expanding, this is sure to cover any queries or issues you may face in your up & coming projects. We do consult in our office but this is only by appointment so please call or email to organise a time that suits both.

Supply

Supplying through trade and retail avenues, TLI can point you in the right direction to get pricing for your up and coming projects. By having plenty of stock in Adelaide and also interstate in larger quantities, your deadlines are always under control and lengthy lead-times are a thing of the past.
